Spellbinders - Turning Negatives into Positives

Hello Blog Friends - I am excited about today's Step by Step Tutorial for Spellbinders and hope that you will be too!  What could possibly be negative about Spellbinders - well the answer to that is nothing but I am talking about Negative Dies!! So, what is a Negative Die some of you ask...


A Negative Die is what remains when you have cut your original Die, so often these are pretty enough to use on their own.  I have collected a lot of them and am going to show you one way to use them....there are many different ways - you may have some of your own and I would love to see them.


Spellbinders Products:

Cross Promotional Partner Products:
Other: White Card stock, Seam Binding, Mulberry Rose, Button; Kindy Glitz - Liquid Glitter


 1. Use Negative Die from the Lace Hearts Die.
 2. Cut/emboss three (3) Hearts One using Authentique Paper
 3. Score the hearts through the center vertically
 4. Adhere the hearts on the score ling using liquid glue as shown above

 5. Using DCWV paper cut/emboss one  5x7 Matting Basics A #4  
 6. Using white card stock cut one (1) 5x7 Matting Basics B # 5 (the smallest Die being #1)

 7. Use another larger negative Die as a backing layer
 8. Adhere all layers using E-Z Runner


  9. Sponge around the inner and outer edges of the Negative Die using Rich Cocoa and a Sponge Dauber
10. Adhere embossed Negative Die to the top of layered papers using liquid glue
11. Center heart bling
12. Adhere layered Hearts One using E-Z Runner




13. Attach Seam Binding using double sided tape, pleating the Seam Binding as you go
14. Add Bling Border under pleated Seam Binding
15. Adhere Double Seam Binding Bow using Liquid Glue, followed by the button
16. Add large white pearl to the center of the button and use Kindy Glitz around the button as shown below. 
17. Cut/emboss sentiment from white card stock and adhere to lower portion of the card using liquid glue.
