Happy Birthday Wishes

I am getting back into the swing of making cards after working on some Sneak Peek projects that will be seen over the next little while - I have enjoyed 'getting back to basics' with some colouring in....and just for a change of pace - something whimsical...

For me it was an opportunity to use the darling Teddy Bo stamp set I got free with the Australian Simply Cards Magazine - how adorable is this image.  I have stamped it using Tsukineko Jet Black Stazon and coloured with Tsukineko Memento Markers- my new love.

The image has been cut out and popped up onto Spellbinders Labels Twenty-Seven  Nestabilities®  in pink card and Decorative Labels Twenty-Seven  Nestabilities® in white.  The Dies have been cut using the Spellbinders Grand Calibur® Machine.

A Seam Binding Bow and sentiment from the Teddy Bo Stamp set, Die Cut with the Spellbinders Back to Basics Tags Shapeabilities®.  Finishing off with a small Mulberry Rose and Want2Scrap bling.

This card is for the following challenges:
Craftymess Challenge - Show some Sparkle/Bling

Let it Snow......

Merry Christmas to all my friends, family and wonderful Blog Followers in the Southern Hemisphere - and to those on you who are putting those final presents under the tree, putting out cookie and carrots, getting ready for Midnight Mass, or trying to get a few hours sleep before the kids get up in the wee hours of the morning......

We have had a wonderful three days of celebrations and it is not finished yet...I am making the most of a quiet moment and wanted to share one of my favourite things with you - Snowmen - I just love them and seem to be getting a collection of them, that is growing each year.

When this adorable one was unpacked after being in the box since last year I saw he had somehow lost his nose and quickly had to find something to replace it - thankful I had an orange button on hand and glued it...but I could not stop there......

Out with the Want2Scrap bling and I added a Swirl to the snowflake, along with some little rhinestones to the sign....I know! I know....I am a bling addict - and if you think that is bad...check out his bucket in the first photo - LOL! Yep more Want2Scrap around the edge of the bucket - now this darling Snowman looks ready for Christmas!

I will be back later today on the Spellbinders Paper Arts Blog with a special post for Christmas Day - the theme is SPARKLE and you have to know I used some 'serious' bling on my Tutorial - I would love you to pop over and have a look - leave me a comment if you have the time!

Beautiful Rose

It is three sleeps until Christmas and I am sure you are all busy preparing, we all celebrate in different ways but the most important thing is that we remember WHY we celebrate....

For some reason this card has shown up in my drafts, inspite of being a card I made when I was on the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge Design Team, so I thought I would share it anyway....

I love this beautiful digital rose designed by Teri from Delicious Doodles - her images are always divine!  If you have time I would recommend a visit to Teri's Blog, the artwork there will inspire you!

Layering, sponging, tearing and a touch of bling - seems I haven't changed - always favourites with me!

I have raised the rose head and some of the leaves to add some dimension - I love the extra 'pop' it gives the card!  From memory I sent the original card to my Mum for her birthday!

I hope you don't mind seeing something I have posted before - I am busy working on projects that cannot be seen yet, as well as preparing for Christmas - I love this season and we have decided not to complicate it by over catering and rushing around.  The shopping is done and if there is something we don't have - well, it is too late! LOL!  I am sure we don't lack for anything.

If I don't see you beforehand, have a blessed Christmas - I hope it is filled with everything you love and in amongst the festivities you take the time to remember why we celebrate CHRISTmas.  Thank you for your comments and all of the support you give me - you make blogging such an amazing place to be!! Your encouragement is such a blessing for me - it makes my day! God bless you!

Sew What's New?

It has been a busy few days for me and I have realised that I have neglected my Blog *head hung in shame!*  Today I am back to share a CAS card - I know hard to believe from me! LOL!

The NinaB Design Dream Team is not having a Blog Hop this month due to the business of the season, but each member will be sharing a card during the month of December - the theme is CAS (Clean and Simple) and I have kept to it this month! LOL!  Shhh but don't tell anyone, I actually enjoyed creating a CAS card!

I have stamped the image from the Sew Lovely stamp set designed by NinaB Designs for The Craft's Meow on white card front, using Onyx Black Versafine by Tsukineko and  paper pieced the dress, bow and neck.  I have then run the stamped and paper pieced card front through the Spellbinders Grand Calibur® Machine using the  Flower Fun M-Bossabilities™

The divine bling is for Want2Scrap by NinaB Designs - one of my favourite combinations!

This card is for the following challenges:
Divas by Design - anything goes
Paper Shelter Challenge - anything goes

Darkroom Door Artist Event - Guest Artist

I am excited to be one of the Guest Designers for the Darkroom Door and Helmar Blog Hop - thank you Rachel Greig for inviting me!  I have had such fun creating For my project I have created a Tin of Six Baby Cards, using the Darkroom Door Hello Baby Collection and Helmar products.

There are quite a few photos, so I will keep the chatter to a minimum and just add the products I have used for each card.

Card 1

I have used  the adorable bear from the Hello Baby Collection, layering it onto the Spellbinders™ Labels One , Scalloped Labels One and Decorative Labels One Nestabilities®, along with Fancy Framed Tags Two Shapeabilities® for the sentiment.  My paper is from Teresa Collins, the pearls from Want2Scrap.  The ribbon is Seam Binding.

Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots are perfect for popping up your layers, giving that extra dimension.  I have added them under the Teddy Bear and also the sentiment.  One of the great things is you have control of how high your layers are.  The Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots also dries fairly quickly, but you will need to put it aside for a little while - to make sure you do not flatten them while still drying.

Card 2

is created using Darkroom Door Hello Baby PhotoChips and Hello Baby MontageHelmar Liquid Scrap Dots has also been used to layer the Spellbinders™ Marvelous Squares Nestabilities®.

Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive is perfect for attaching the Seam Binding Bow to the card - and lives up to it's name - it is so fast, I love that fact.  It also glues the lace, Mulberry Rose and charms beautifully.

 Card 3

The Bootees from the Darkroom Door Hello Baby Collection have been stamped, cut out and popped up using the Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots, onto the Spellbinders™ Asian Accents Shapeabilities®. The background is embossed using the Spellbinders™ Regal M-Bossabilities™. The bling flourish is from Want2Scrap.

Card 4

The adorable photos from the Darkroom Door Hello Baby Photo Montage work beautifully with the Spellbinders™ Snapshot Shapeabilities® By Licensed Designer Donna Salazar. The Words from the Darkroom Door Hello Baby - Wordstrips have been attached using the Helmar Premium Craft Glue and the camera adhered using the Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots.

Card 5

The versatility of the Darkroom Door Hello Baby Collection. The bootees take on such a real look when stamped. They have been popped up onto the Spellbinders™ Vintage Lace Motifs Shapeabilities®, again using the Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots - I love this stuff!!! Recycled lace has been added and the sentiment is from the Hello Baby Boy - Wordstrips and has been adhered to the Spellbinders™ Vintage Lace Accents Shapeabilities®. Finishing off with buttons and Want2Scrap bling.

Card 6

My last card is created using the Darkroom Door Hello Baby - PhotoChips, that has been layered onto a later from the Spellbinders™ Marvelous Squares Nestabilities®. Photos have been added from the Darkroom Door Hello Baby Photo Montage. Seam binding and a vintage brad finish off this card.

Thank you for visiting today and for making your way through the post.  I hope you are inspired to have a look at the fabulous range of product from Darkroom Door.  I had the honour of meeting Rachel Greig at the Craft Show in Canberra and was greatly inspired by her.  Rachel is an amazing artist and her product is fabulous to use.   Make sure you check out Helmar as well - I am a convert and just love their adhesives - Liquid Scrap Dots has found a permanent home in my Craft Room.   Make sure you check out both Blogs for all the inspiration that is being shared all week for the Artists Event.

Thank you for your comments and all of the support you give me - you make blogging such an amazing place to be!! Your encouragement is such a blessing for me - it makes my day! God bless you!

CFC #13 A Touch of Colour

Time goes by quickly - especially as we get closer to Christmas - it is time for the next Crafty Friends Challenge - are you ready??!

I love the challenges the Design Team are bringing each fortnight but these girls are really making it hard for me lately - all this white and CAS cards - arghhhh! LOL!  I am a layers and 'not so CAS' girl, but just quietly, am enjoying the challenge of making the cards simpler - but shhh - don't tell Beate and the girls! LOL!

Charmaine has challenged us to make a white card with a splash of color - shouldn't be too hard - LOL!

I have used the adorable Butterfly Kisses image by NinaB Designs for The Craft's Meow.  I have heat embossed her in Tsukineko White Embossing Powder and sponged around the image using a rose coloured ink, to add that little bit of colour.  The image is hand cut and layered onto the Spellbinders Floral Ovals Nestabilities®, a second wing image has been added and popped up of foam tape.  My Die has been cut using the Spellbinders Grand Calibur® Machine.

The bottom layer had been embossed using the Spellbinders Mystic M-Bossabilities™ Folder.
White Seam Binding has been used for the double bow and a pink button added, with the addition of a Want2Scrap  Creme pearl.  Want2Scrap Creme pearls have also been added around the Spellbinders Floral Ovals Nestabilities®, and one to the centre of the Dandelion.

A quick and easy card and I am happy with all of the white - which is a pleasant surprise to me! LOL!

This card is for the following challenges:
